I can see us making a move for Harrison, either another loan or permanent. SD likes gim, he can be frustrating at times but he is a 100% effort player.

{Ed025's Note - he does give 100% Swinners but hes all left foot playing on the right, i dont really get that mate..

It is possible that 777 Partners will seek Chapter 11 bancruptcy protection whilst it re-organises the business. However, they could be forced down the Chapter 7 route which will see a Trustee (like an Administrator) take over a recover all debts and sell all assets to distribute to pay debts of their own.

This would put Everton at huge risk and needing to find £210M or more quickly to repay 777 Partners. The value of the total debt will mean that Moshiri may need to sell the club for a nominal amount (say £1) to a buyer willing to take on the immediate £600M worth of debt owed to third parties.

Moshiri will also need to write off the further £450M owed to him in loans or stike a deal for payment down the line somewhere. MSP are able to take control of either the new stadium or 51% of Moshiri's shares if the club cannot service the £159M debt with them.

Rights and Media Funding, who blocked the investment proposed by MSP last year, are owed £225M secured against Goodison Park and the other assets the club owns.

I cannot see 777 Partners taking over the club. MSP would be a good solution but will be wary of taking over the huge debt. A suggestioin that John Textor would look to take the club in to the same group as Lyon and Botofogo is credible.

However, it is not something that could happen overnight as he is a part owner of Crystal Palace and would need to sell on first, then go through the whole process to obtain approval from the Premier League, FA and the Financial Conduct Authority during which time the club can only accrue more debt or enter Administration whilst they wait.

Right now, the club will have to find a way to restructure at least some of the debt or head in to Administration during the close season. For me, the best solution Everton can look for would be an MSP takeover who would have to look to agree with those owed money to restructure all of the debt in exchange for interest payments whilst the debts are cleared. This would likely involve selling the new stadium and renting it back.

Out of everything I hope we don't lose the stadium. That's the one thing that could save us financially, eventually.

{Ed002's Note - There is no money to finish it and debt is already secured against it unfortunately.}

Hi Ed002

Quick question on the administration route that you’ve mentioned above -

If the club go into administration during the closed season, what are the chances of it being resolved before the new season kicks off again? Therefore what would be the scenarios surrounding administration in terms of points deductions etc

Very grim reading though, and certainly very confusing for me.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing will be resolved that quickly as it takes time to go through the approval process unfortunately. It would also mean starting next season on minus nine points. Critically it gives the club breathing space to try and sort themselves out.}

Wouldn't surprise me if he went. Personally I think he'd be a massive loss and we'd really struggle to find a player that fits the system the way he does.

24 May 2024 19:02:11
Not sure how I feel about that, seems low knowing what he is capable of and how valuable he is to our set up and limited striker options, but then if he breaks down again could be another 6months out.

Know he is 32 but with or without Dom leaving I'd like us to go in for Callum Wilson, apparently wants out, experience head and knows where the net is, still got a season or 2 left him in in top flight til hopefully our finances get sorted, ideally try if Dom does go for a season loan.

24 May 2024 19:15:26

24 May 2024 21:16:22
Problem is he’s in last year of his contract so very little chance we’ll get a massive fee for him and £25m is probably a decent price based on this.

Would rather us keep him as he can score goals and we’ve stuck with him through all his injuries and would hate to see him banging in goals for another team in the premier league.

Hopefully he signs a new contract and then if decides to leave we can ask for a bigger price - however got a feeling he’ll ask to leave as can’t be fun playing for us at the moment and he’s also had some considerable stick from some of the fan base.

24 May 2024 22:18:20
How can we lose him for this after paying £30m for Beto! Typical Everton Beto might be as bad as tosun and straq and yet we are going to lose the only decent striker we have had in years for next to nothing. It never rains it pours with Everton!

{Ed025's Note - nail on the head there Chris mate..

24 May 2024 22:50:46
I'm surprised that the rumour fee is as high. What is it 52 goals in 6 years? Last year of contract and scored something like 10 in last 2 seasons? If all true I think he'd be desperate to get into a club like Newcastle and the fee seems pretty good to me. I'd bite their hand off.

25 May 2024 10:27:12
Also how many goals did he score compared to beto and people are skating him in his first season, he may look like a big lump but he sat on the bench most of the time, beto could still be the man to lead the line and we also have the young lad can't spell his name, he's had a year now and so knows what to expect, I have high Hope's for him, we need fire power from other areas not just the strikers.

I agree with dan and fbs posts as dan mentioned he is in his last year of his contract so dcl is going to look for 1 last pay rise i would be gutted if he went but you can't blame anyone for wanting to leave in our current situation and as fc pointed out aswell its going to be difficult to find a replacement to fit our system i'm just hoping dyche an thelwell can get our recruitment right cause with leicester back in prem and Leeds or Southampton we need many points as possible next season to stay in league.

Afternoon Eds,

Hope you are well.

With Dom and Jared having only cost us around 2.5 million, I imagine with both bringing in pure profit, both will be sold to balance the books for this year.

Say we get approx 60m for Jared and 20m for DCL, that would then all but cover our losses for the year. Would that then allow us to invest any money brought in after that e. g. Onana sale, into the squad or would most of it then go into paying back some of the debts off to R&M and MSP?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - The losses have not been declared so we don't know what they will be. Selling players is the solution and there will certainly be interest in Branthwaite, Onana and Calvert-Lewin. Everton can invest anything beyond that but much will depend what happens about a sale - or MSP taking the stadium or half of the club to get control. The debts owed to MSP, 777 Partners etc. are huge - and don't forget a £450M loan from Moshiri.}

Hopefully Thelwall has been doing his homework and plenty of scouting trips only time will tell i guess but there are decent player's about it's just what the parent clubs are wanting for them as it won't be hard to price us out of a deal.

23 May 2024 19:09:35
I am not as familiar with the Championship as I once was, so I only know a few names that I would want us to go after.

I know sometimes you don't wish to get involved with the granular details Ed but do you know who some of those options might be.

There is plenty of talent in the league though. I made calls on here last summer for us to go after young Wharton after being made aware of him by a Rovers fan and watching him myself. I was gutted when Palace nabbed him and I am not one bit surprised he has started his PL career the way he has. He would have been perfect for us.

{Ed002's Note - Could you ask again on Sunday or Monday please BN. I am travelling right now but I have names of a few players the club has been looking at.}

Ok ok so the silly season doesn't go too far too quickly and annoy out of people with more than 2 brain cells. let's ditch these hypothetical nonsense questions about the calibre and prices of players like Rikky and Greenwood and maybe start talking about the cheap realistic work men like players from places like Norwich Ipswich Burnley Southampton Luton etc and stop wasting yours and everyone elses time with this sillyness? Agreed. We’ve signed the likes of Branthwaite and Stones from the lowers leagues. So there are gems out there.

We’ve not really had much success through our youth ranks over the last few years bar maybe Gordon. So starting from the bottom upwards would also help.

20 May 2024 13:08:13
Totally agree fbs think we do need to start scouting in lower divisions in my opinion mate question is will thelwell and dyche go down that route think he needs to tbh but time will tell.

Agree2 0Disagree

20 May 2024 14:01:51
What other route is there mate? He ain't got the kids to play so it's going to be a load of left fields and a few oldies on short contracts who get the job done. I expect to be busy as it has to be. We need 5 or 6. Sales first and then v v late window purchases. Loans right at the death when everyone else has done business and some all of a sudden need a club.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2024 21:19:52
That makes sense FBS.

Only mentioned Richy as read somewhere that Spurs were in the market for a couple of strikers and wondered if Richy would become surplus to requirements…

Think Onana and Branthwaite will go to raise £120m (or as close to that as we can get) and most of that will go towards preventing more points deductions. Let’s hope they can find 5-6 Colemans as we will be scuppered otherwise!
